About

In 2017, Elf Patrol, Inc. finally became a 501 (c) 3 in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia.

For years we talked about filing for non-profit status but hesitated because of the cost.  The option was always, guarantee the children are taken care of, or gamble that we would get donations in time.  Obviously, we always veered in favor of the children.

Our core mission is providing Christmas for at-risk children dealing with hospice, shelters, or homeless.  We try to be there for any children that would otherwise not receive a visit from Santa.

Our core mission will always be the same, but we have grown to working with special needs adults and Special Olympics.  We work with all the different organizations year round.  Whether its needed items, or just a pair of hands, we are there.

Our Motto: Sharing hope, one smile at a time.

Having grown up in a very large family, I know how hard it is to go without. And while many will say, when they are older they will understand. Understanding and feeling are two very different things.  Doesn’t make it less hurtful.  The children haven’t done anything wrong.  Its no one’s fault. They are just in a tough situation and dealing with it as best they can.  The least we can do is provide some kind of Christmas for them.

In 2017 we were able to provide Christmas for 450 individuals.

In 2018 that number jumped to 1213. More than double!

All thanks to donations and grants from the community around us. We had surprise toy drives, grants, storage space, fundraisers at local shops, space to work in.  Even just customers in the store where we were shopping bought items. Talk about community spirit!

The plan for 2019 was to try and help 1500.

We closed out the year providing for 2153!

Now of that 1656 were children.  The rest consisted of special needs adults, homeless, and seniors on their own.  Overall a fantastic year.

We did have a few last minute Santa Emergencies.  But, due to the success of  our toy drive, we are able to handle that with ease.  Thanks to everyone who helped.  Best year ever!!!

We even spent Christmas Day at the Boys and Girls Club in Hampton.  Visiting with the children, taking pictures with families, and sharing those toys.  It was a beautiful way to close out the season.

Thanks to everyone in the community, not only for all you support and encouragement, but for helping to create so many smiles!

Looking forward to 2020! Hope everyone is taking care!

     Merry Christmas!
